We often try to stop at local joints when on long travels. But it is such a risky proposition. Sometimes the pay-off is high (like with Emma’s Food for Life). But more often you get a place like Troy’s. At least the restroom was fairly clean.

We’re in transit to NC for the holidays. A few months ago I posted about Emma’s Food for Life in Selinsgrove, which is now our favorite place to stop along the long route 15 stretch. It was closed today, so we stopped off at the grocery store for a decent lunch from their deli. But I was very excited to see that they had nice new waterless urinals! I know you’re excited too.

We’re heading out tomorrow, hopefully. First DC, then NC. Hopefully there will be some nice restrooms over the next two weeks. But I really should clean this one before I leave.

We got the rental car, but we’re not going anywhere yet. With the massive snow storm hitting the east coast, we decided to delay our departure for at least a day. Which means, of course, that the kids are being insanely bad.
